Easy Rider: Captain America Burns in Fire

    The Captain America chopper on Easy Rider has become one of the most iconic images in the world of motorcycling.


    But things took a turn for the worst on Monday, as one of two motorcycles certified by collector guru Dan Haggerty as an original Harley-Davidson custom has burned in a warehouse fire in Austin, Texas.


    The blaze at the warehouse owned by Gordon Granger also destroyed other collectible motorcycles and 22 automobiles; all together, the damage is estimated at $1 million. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.


    The other Captain America chopper is owned by John Parham of J&P Cycles. This model was also authenticated by Haggerty and the Easy Rider star who rode the machine in 1969, Peter Fonda. Perham's motorcycle was allegedly used in the final crash scene in Easy Rider.

    laut "the art of the motorcycle" wurde das (heile) Captain America Bike geklaut, bevor der Film rauskam bzw. bevor es zur Ikone wurde.
    Auch in mehreren anderen (Zeitungs-/ Zeitschriften-) Artikeln ist die Rede davon, das nur noch Nachbauten existieren?!

    1. Zeitgeist...ja gerne. 2. Cool...nur der Hopper. 3. Ultracool und wahrscheinlich unter Berücksichtigung interner Entwicklungen der US Filmindustrie über Jahre zum Vorbild für den Terminator gemorpht...die PICKUPFAHRER. Die PICKUPFAHRER und das weiß keiner sind die Krönung des Films... Nach ultracool kommt nur noch erhaben - in diesem Film Gegenstände. Weit vor den Panmotoren liegt der Helm von Jack Nicholson, ein Sporthelm. Dieser allerdings abgeschlagen auf Platz zwei und unendliche Abstufungen zurück hinter der Gottheit des Machwerks....der Sonnenbrille des Vollpfostens Fonda. Seitem der Typ von Harley Hannover oder so die trägt allerdings auch nichts mehr wert...Amen und Prost! Hellyeah, ich leih euch gern meine Easy-Rider-Gedenk-Video2000-Kassette aus....eine ständige Wiederholung der letzten Minuten des Films. Am Ende einfach umdrehen und weiter geht`s... Frohes Neues, ich geh jetzt Banjo spielen...
